Elder Spangler - PERU PIURA Mission

How's it going everyone!  Hope you've all had a good week!  This week felt pretty quick and I already only have 2 more weeks of this transfer, it's crazy!  Also, Christmas officially started, which is weird cause its basically summer everyday here. But anyways, without further ado, let's get into the good stuff.  The other day we were waiting at the church to have a baptism, and the house next to us started blasting Yeah by Usher.  It was amazing, it brought me back to all the stake dances that I would go to when I was a lad. We also went to a mall on Friday and they started playing Kill Bill by SZA. It was also amazing. Brought me back to the days when I used to kill bill. Don't get me wrong I love me some good Peruvian music, but it was nice to hear some American music for a little bit. What's good everyone!  I'm back from yet another week in the mission, it's been crazy. I had a pretty busy week so it went moderately fast.  On Wednesday we had my second multi-zone conference. It was super fun to see everyone including all the new missionaries that arrived. Got to see my good hacky sack friend Elder Harris. Haven't seen him since I left the MTC so it was a good little reunion. All the new missionaries participated in the cake smashing tradition, and it was good to just sit back and watch this time. Feels good to not be as much of a rookie anymore. I guess you could say I've been around the block once or twice.  Speaking of going around the block, we went to the mall this week and it was actually so sick. It was super nice and there was a ton of stuff. Saw some sick Adidas forums and was definitely tempted to buy them for a sec but don't worry I stayed strong. There's only so many ways I can start my emails. But what up. Hope you're all good. I've been pretty good, starting to get really used to mission life. Tomorrow is my 3 month mark! Super crazy. Ok now let's get into the email. I saw white people! It was crazy, first non-missionary white people that I've seen since I got here. There was a huge cruise ship that stopped here for a couple hours and there were a bunch of people taking pictures and touring the area Puerto Paita. I only got to talk to 2 people but it was still so weird to be able to talk to a person on the street in english. They probably thought I was weird cause I got so excited when they told me they spoke english. My companion probably thought I was racist too because of how excited I was.  Speaking of racist, the other day a family was asking me about the United States and stuff, and they randomly asked me If I considered myself to be racist. What's up guys! How's everyone doing this week? This week has been packed with a lot of great stuff! Also the transfer ends this week, which is insane. I've officially finished my first month and a half of the mission. First off, the food is consistently pretty good here, which I am very grateful for. We also have a lady that makes us lunch everyday, which is soooo nice. Recently we've been eating a good amount of seafood, mostly fish. Which is a good thing because since I've been out here in Peru I've been on a seafood diet. I see food, and I eat it. Anyways, the other day a member gave us this really weird dessert. It was this like purple slime stuff in a cup. It wasn't that bad, but it was just so weird. It felt like I was playing slime laboratory on cool math. Being here amidst such poverty has been really eye opening for me. One thing that I've noticed is everybody here wants an iphone, and only the super rich (pituko) people have them. It's a g...
