Slime Laboratory

What's up guys! How's everyone doing this week? This week has been packed with a lot of great stuff! Also the transfer ends this week, which is insane. I've officially finished my first month and a half of the mission.

First off, the food is consistently pretty good here, which I am very grateful for. We also have a lady that makes us lunch everyday, which is soooo nice. Recently we've been eating a good amount of seafood, mostly fish. Which is a good thing because since I've been out here in Peru I've been on a seafood diet. I see food, and I eat it. Anyways, the other day a member gave us this really weird dessert. It was this like purple slime stuff in a cup. It wasn't that bad, but it was just so weird. It felt like I was playing slime laboratory on cool math.

Being here amidst such poverty has been really eye opening for me. One thing that I've noticed is everybody here wants an iphone, and only the super rich (pituko) people have them. It's a great reminder to be grateful for all I have back home. If you're reading this and you have an iphone, I want to challenge you to go find the nearest cliff, and throw it as far as you can. I know it doesn't sound like much but I think you guys will start to see a big difference in your lives.

We had interviews with the Mission President and while we were talking, he told me that I sounded like I was from Spain. I was confused, so I asked the other Elders about it and they all told me the same thing. It's kinda weird but at the same time it's a good thing. After further review, I'd rather sound like a Spaniard than a gringo. Don't quote me on that.

We went on exchanges last week and while we were walking, the Elder I was with just turned to me and said, in his very broken English, "I like the toxic women." It was the most random thing ever and I was so confused. But it was also so funny at the same time. I told him Utah was the place for him. Kidding but I was laughing for a while because I was not expecting him to say that.

I forgot to tell you guys, but a couple weeks ago we were having a lesson, and at the end, my companion testified that the power of God was real, and my ability to speak Spanish in the lesson proved His power. It was really cool, and I felt pretty good about myself, and then the lady we were teaching told my companion that she hadn't understood a word I had said the whole time. Yeah. Not sure what else to say.

Anyways, I should probably write about something important. We had my first Baptism this week! It was for a kid named Dayler and he's super awesome. The spirit was super strong and I felt so happy the whole time. Something I was thinking a lot about is the Priesthood. It's so cool that our church and only our church has this power. I'm so thankful for the Priesthood and the blessings I've received from it. I hope you guys can recognize the power of this amazing gift!

That's about it for this week. I hope you guys enjoy reading my emails. I enjoy writing them haha. Until next week!
