Hello everyone what in the world is up. I hope it's been a wonderful week for all of you. I have had a good week here in the pines (Los Pinos is my area). This week we had a baptism! It was for a girl named Jenny and it was awesome! I got to baptize her which was cool. The font was only halfway full due to lack of water recently, but luckily it was enough. I had to really lower her hahah but it worked. It was a great experience especially since it's been our only one this transfer, and my companion's first one in the mission. We also did it yesterday after church so there were a lot of people there thankfully. This week we got absolutely eaten alive by mosquitos which was awful. I just refuse to put repellent on. I don't know if it's cause of the stickiness or cause every time I smell it I think of the morning of a campout, which might be one of the worst feelings in the world. But either way, I HATE putting that stuff on. But alas, I might have to sta...

Buzzcut season

Hey everyone! Hope you all are doing well! I'm doing great! Just absolutely chilling out here in the slums. The boonies, if you will. It's been a pretty quick week once again, which seems to be going by faster and faster as time goes on. This week we had some good little interviews with the man himself. President. Who sadly only has about 2 months left as our president. But anyways, the interviews went great and we had some good food after at the mission home. Little chicken broaster with some tasty little platano cups filled with a little onion concoction. A definite Peruvian masterpiece. My son Elder Webster this week took the bold decision to get a buzzcut, and I was tempted to do the same. But I didn’t crumble under pressure this time. He also shared his testimony yesterday in Sacrament meeting and it was great, it was a proud father moment. They grow up so fast don't they.  Something crazy I forgot to mention last week is that when I was on exchanges, the carbon monoxi...

Chill week

What's up everyone! I'm back from yet another week out here in Piura. It's been a crazy one, but let's get into some of the highlights.  First off, this morning we went back to Catacaos, cause I had to show my new comp Elder Webster what the hype is all about. Needless to say, it was sick once again. I didn't get as much as the last time but I got a couple things. Just a little wooden bowl thing for my coin collection of course, and a cool leather cover for my scriptures. But it was definitely a highlight of the week. I will definitely be going back later in my mission.  Last Tuesday we had to go do some paperwork in the city for my companion, so we had to go to Piura for a couple of hours. When we got there, we split off as trainers and went to this massive mall thing and it was fun. We got some frozen yogurt and just chilled. Twas a good little getaway and I got to see my good friend Elder Pratt again so we chatted for a bit. Solid day. One thing that's crazy ...

I almost baptized a pregnant lady

What's up everyone I'm back, after two weeks without an email! How did you guys survive without me? Due to the many complaints, I've decided to write you guys again. It's been an eventful, crazy two weeks. Also Happy Easter to everyone, I hope you all had a good feast, and didn't eat what I ate... But let's start with a very interesting story. We've been teaching this one girl for a while now, named Dulce. She's 15 years old, awesome, and had a baptismal date for last Saturday which was super exciting. But, the problem was this. When we arrived to do her interview, she told the district leader that she was pregnant. First of all, wow, pregnant at 15, that's crazy. Second of all, where the heck did that come from, we didn't have a clue about this. Anyways, after a long talk with the district leader, they came to the conclusion that she could get baptized the week after. (pretty sure that's ok). I'm gonna split this into 2 paragraphs so it...
