I almost baptized a pregnant lady

What's up everyone I'm back, after two weeks without an email! How did you guys survive without me? Due to the many complaints, I've decided to write you guys again. It's been an eventful, crazy two weeks. Also Happy Easter to everyone, I hope you all had a good feast, and didn't eat what I ate...

But let's start with a very interesting story. We've been teaching this one girl for a while now, named Dulce. She's 15 years old, awesome, and had a baptismal date for last Saturday which was super exciting. But, the problem was this. When we arrived to do her interview, she told the district leader that she was pregnant. First of all, wow, pregnant at 15, that's crazy. Second of all, where the heck did that come from, we didn't have a clue about this. Anyways, after a long talk with the district leader, they came to the conclusion that she could get baptized the week after. (pretty sure that's ok). I'm gonna split this into 2 paragraphs so it's not so long.

Anyways, along comes her baptism day, last Saturday. In the morning she texted us and basically told us, after a while of convincing, that she wasn't ready anymore to get baptized. We were devastated, but of course, still had hope for the upcoming weeks. Later that day, we go visit her member sister, to see what's up and what the problem is. Turns out, Dulce, the pregnant 15 year old girl, had moved in with her 29 YEAR OLD BOYFRIEND, and was no longer gonna get baptized. Absolutely insane story, resulting in a permanently fallen baptismal date. Thanks for tuning in guys.

Alright you're probably wondering what I ate for Easter out here in the slums. Imagine this. An old, very overly ripe plantain (basically a banana), smushed and put onto a plate, mixed in with some very strange cheese chunks. It was pretty disgusting, and I did not enjoy eating it. But I did it, with difficulty. But apparently that's like a super classic Easter dish here in Peru, so I guess I'll be coming back for seconds in about a year. Anyways, it had been a while since I ate gross food, so it was only fair.

I was finally able to collect the rare much sought for Machu Picchu Peruvian sol. It was a wonderful day. I feel like I finally found my real purpose for being out here. Kidding hahah but my collection has increased substantially since the last time I updated you guys on it. I'm still missing about 15, but I will acquire those soon. By small and simple things are great things brought to pass. (Alma 37)

I can't believe it's already April. It literally hasn't been April since last year! (kidding guys I'm not doing that again). But it actually is crazy, March absolutely flew by. For those of you who made brackets, I hope they've been absolutely destroyed like my family's. Except my sister Ginger, she is in the 99.9% and I couldn't be prouder. But It really is crazy to me that March is already over, it's been a solid month though. Full of mushy bananas and pregnant people.

I hope you all had a great Easter weekend. I'm so grateful for my Savior and His sacrifice. And the knowledge that because He rose again, we too can rise again. How cool is that?! We are so blessed to have this gospel and all the knowledge that it brings us. Also I hope you all have a wonderful General Conference weekend! I can't wait to hear from our prophet and apostles this week and for the peace that it brings in our lives!

Anyway, sorry again guys for failing you last week and not sending an email, but I hope you all enjoyed this one.  Have an awesome week guys.  I love you all!
