What is up guys! How are you all! This week has been crazy for me and I don't have a ton of time right now so I'm gonna make this one short.  But basically this week, me and my companion became a trio! It's because one of the Elders in my ward had to go home for a couple of reasons, and since the transfer is coming up so soon, we just became a trio. It's been super fun though, a little different just because I'm not used to it but it's been a great couple of days!  We get the transfer news tomorrow which is super crazy! I'm pretty sure I'll be leaving my area because I've been here for 3 transfers now. I'll be sad to leave, I love my area, but I'm also excited for a change. I was definitely lucky to start my mission in this area. We're by the beach with no bugs, and it's one of the coolest areas in my mission. I'm probably gonna die from heat and mosquitos in my other areas but it's all good.  Anyways, one funny thing I saw th...

Night on the town

What is going on everybody! It's been a super fast week, we did a lot! I hope you've all enjoyed your week. Alrighty let's see what I've been up to here in Peru. First of all, transfers are already next week! This is a seven week transfer so I'm surprised at how quick it has felt. The work here in my area hasn't progressed a ton but we're trying. The problem is people aren't coming to church, and in order to be baptized, you have to attend church twice here. So basically that one dog that came to church like two months ago has a better chance of being baptized than half of our investigators. Wonder how he's doing. The other night before bed, I taught my companion how to play war. The classic game with playing cards. It's like the most classic game in the world, but he didn't know how to play it. I guess you could say I showed him the ropes. But it was a good time, took me back to the days when my Dad and I would play on Sunday nights and have...

What in the world is up guys, we're back with another email. Hope everyone is well and enjoying life. I have been having some fun out here in Peru, just absolutely chilling. But anyways, it's been a quick and good week, let's see what happened.  This whole past week I was kinda sick with a small cold, which was kinda lame but it's all good. But the funny thing is that here, everybody thinks that drinking cold water causes a cold. They always get mad at me for drinking cold water in the blazing heat. But when I try to explain to all of them that it doesn't matter, they never believe me. It's very interesting. They basically think that anything cold that comes in contact with your body will make you sick.  For example, my companion was a little sick last week, just because he just caught some small cold. But one day he told me it was because he walked into a grocery store that had air conditioning. My mind was blown. I don't know who brainwashed these people, ...

Hello everyone! How are you guys? Hope you all had a great new year and practiced some of the jokes I taught you. It's been a pretty good week, not a ton happened but it was solid. I'm not gonna lie guys I have no idea what to talk about in this email. I left all my humor in the last one. I also forgot to write down all the interesting stuff that happened this week. So I'm just gonna try to come up with some stuff as I go. Let's start with my area. I'm by the beach, in one of the breezier areas in the mission. It's like my third month here, so I've gotten to know the area really well. Some might say too well. All the people are awesome and they love to talk in English to me. Most of them only know like three words though so when I respond they just look at me like they have no idea what's going on. It's like me when I first arrived in Peru and I was just this little gringito that knew nothing.  As for the language, I feel like I've got pretty sol...

Since last year

Hey everybody, HAPPY NEW YEAR. Wow, I can't believe it's 2024. It's been a great year. Also sorry, I haven't sent an email since last year guys, my bad. Got 'em. First off, as a kid, I loved making the New Years jokes about not doing something since last year. I thought they were so funny, but I had to be careful because there's always that one kid that says it wrong and then everybody starts making fun of them. For example: Instead of saying "I haven't taken a shower since last year," they'd say, "I haven't taken a shower in a year." Rookie mistake. But anyways, they're classics. If you don't like them, don't read this email because I will be using the same one over and over again. Yesterday, I bought some bread, and it was low-key kinda gross. It was just super dry and crunchy. But that doesn't matter, because it sounded incredible. The crunch was like music to my ears. As I listened to crisp many times over agai...
