Night on the town
What is going on everybody! It's been a super fast week, we did a lot! I hope you've all enjoyed your week. Alrighty let's see what I've been up to here in Peru.
First of all, transfers are already next week! This is a seven week transfer so I'm surprised at how quick it has felt. The work here in my area hasn't progressed a ton but we're trying. The problem is people aren't coming to church, and in order to be baptized, you have to attend church twice here. So basically that one dog that came to church like two months ago has a better chance of being baptized than half of our investigators. Wonder how he's doing.
The other night before bed, I taught my companion how to play war. The classic game with playing cards. It's like the most classic game in the world, but he didn't know how to play it. I guess you could say I showed him the ropes. But it was a good time, took me back to the days when my Dad and I would play on Sunday nights and have like triple wars. Unfortunately, we only had boring single wars but it was still pretty fun.
On Friday I had exchanges with Elder Hill, my zone leader. It was fun to be with another gringo for a day, and reminisce about the good ol' U.S. We got some good pollo a la brasa and fries later that night, which is a very common restaurant meal here in Peru. Basically just a super good rotisserie chicken with fries and sauces. It was pretty delicious, and a good little "night on the town" if you will.
Almost every day we walk past this ice cream shop where a bunch of teenage girls work, and oh boy are they interesting. Every time they say, "amor mio, ven." Which means, my love, come here. It is veryyyy, how do I put this, suspicious. Or, as the kids say these days, sus. I actually have no idea what the kids are saying these days, it's been too long since I've been one. Yes, it may come as a shock to some of you, but I was a kid once.
Low key no cap no kizzy my slimes I don't have much left to tell you all about this week. It flew by and I hardly remember what I did hahah. But I'll tell you one important thing. The Book of Mormon, especially this year with Come Follow Me! It's such an awesome manual that literally gives us every piece of information that we need about the scriptures. This year, with the Book of Mormon, we can read it, study it, and learn so much more about it! It truly is the keystone of our religion, and through it, we can grow so much closer to God. Read it guys, it will change your life!
Well well well, it's been fun. Sorry it was a little shorter of an email this week. But thanks everyone for tuning into this session. Hope you all have a fantastic week and enjoy your winter season! See you all next week, love you all!
