Stubsy
I did it everyone. Well almost. In 2 days I will complete one year as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Wow what a year has it been. It has been easily the hardest, longest, shortest, and most rewarding and enjoyable year of my life. It's honestly so strange to think about how I've been doing this for a whole year now. It feels like it's been going on forever, yet at the same time like I just started. Time on the mission is very weird. But anyways, this email will mainly be dedicated to just a few of the things I've learned being here.
Number 1. It is literally impossible to be happy and progress on this earth without our Savior Jesus Christ. He is the only One that understands everything that goes on in our lives. He has suffered literally every single pain that we could ever feel. Without Him, this life would have no purpose. But with Him, we can all live again. He gives us happiness and peace in this life, and life and salvation in the next life. He is the only perfect being that has ever existed on this earth, and by following His example, we can overcome any obstacle, and return to live with Him and our Heavenly Father again.
Number 2. The Book of Mormon is the most incredible book ever created in the history of the world. You can't convince me otherwise hahah. It was written thousands of years ago, yet applies to every moment in each of our lives. It is the most correct book out of all of them, and if we read it everyday, even just a little bit, we will overcome trials, make better decisions, and receive countless blessings. I can say that every time I read it, I learn new things, and can feel the peace it brings. It is a matchless book, the keystone of our religion, it contains the fullness of the Gospel and the secret to a happy life. Read it please.
Number 3. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the greatest way of life that ever existed. It's almost like a blueprint of how we should live our lives. And it is so simple, that it only has 5 steps. If we follow it step by step, and repeat the process throughout our lives, we will never fall away, and will find so much happiness, especially as families. Each one of us has our own path, but the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a free layout available to everyone, and leads directly back to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
Well guys, that's just a little snippet of what I've learned as a missionary, but I hope you all enjoyed it. Anyways, here's some other stuff we did this week.
Went to a beach today called Lobitos. It is a very popular surf spot and full of white surfers. We met these two Australian guys with the sickest accents. We talked to them for a sec but they told us they had to go cause they had to grab brecky. Direct quote from them. The coolest part is that one of their names was Stubsy. If that's not the coolest name in the world I don't know what is. It will be the name of my future son. But anyways it was a good time and fun to visit the beach again.
One other thing is I had exchanges with my boy Elder Felix. Great missionary from Lehi Utah. It was a good time and we reminisced about Lehi things. We also made a ton of connections we had thought friends and school and stuff. To top it off we got some burgers at this place called Wayos. Pretty good. Not bad for Piura.
Well guys thanks for all your support you've given me this first year. And thanks for staying on this list and not getting annoyed by my dumb jokes. Hope you all have a great day and I'll see you next week.
