Good morning everybody. Welcome back to the weekly newsletter. I hope you've all had a lovely week. For me, it was chill. Here's why.
Last week of the transfer. Worked hard, finished strong. Got transfer news yesterday and I'm staying to finish the training of the young steppa himself, Elder Arter. Getting some friends in the zone this transfer, so I'm excited about that. Ended the transfer off with 4 friends at church, plus 2 that came to second hour. Successful Sunday for sure. Should be a good new transfer.
I was asked to film a short video of myself reading a script, inviting people to church. The secretaries put music to it, and without my consent, posted it to the whole mission. I sent the video in, and three days later was bombarded with whatsapp stories of this same video. I am now unofficially the face of the mission. But hey, you know what they say. Whether it's good or bad, publicity is publicity.
Last night, we were walking down the sidewalk, when we heard this huge pop! We looked over and saw that a moto taxi had blown his brakes, we stopped for a few seconds to watch, then carried on. As we turned back and began walking again, the garage door on a random house had started to close, and was about halfway there. Some context, This garage door, number 1, was directly in front of us, like, directly in front of us. Number 2, was one of the rotating ones that doesn't fold up, just rotates out and up, and down and in. If that makes sense. Which means, if we had been under it while it closed, we would've straight up gotten smashed and potentially injured, and in some cases, died.
Just kidding but it would've been sketch to be under it while closing. Anyways Heavenly Father basically made that guy's brakes blow, so we didn't have the risk of getting stuck, or injured from this garage door. Guys I swear it was cooler in person it sounds lame in this email. Anyways it was just a reminder to me that Heavenly Father watches over us and protects us.
Small update, hope you all enjoyed. I also hope you all enjoy the Lakers destroying this year, due to their recent pickup, Luka Doncic.
Goodbye.
Elder Spangler
