Peru moment
What's good everyone. I'm back. It's been a good week. Very fast once again. Not a ton happened this week, but it was still solid.
We did have a meeting with President this week which was awesome as usual. Talked about living a higher and holier law, and changing a bit the culture of the mission. Lots of stuff with numbers and how we're putting a new emphasis on church attendance. It was a super good meeting and I enjoyed it a lot.
To end the meeting, we all sat down together and ate an incredibly delicious lunch. Tacos. The first tacos I've had in my whole mission. Wow guys, they were incredible. So insanely delicious. Just the combination of beans, beef, pico de gallo, guacamole, and cheese was the most wonderful thing I have ever put into my mouth. It's crazy how many little things there are that I forget about being here hahah. For all my friends in Mexico. Bruh.
Due to the new emphasis on church attendance, we were able to get 10 friends to come to church yesterday. It was awesome. The chapel also filled up for the first time since we've been here, which was a sight. Our zone also had a lot of success, we were able to get 43 friends to church! Which is basically 6 friends per companionship. It was amazing. An absolute miracle and we're super excited, especially with it being the first week into the transfer. Great day overall.
Kinda funny, some lady in our ward told 2 of our friends that they weren't allowed to take the Sacrament because they weren't members. Which we didn't know about until this morning when they called us upset hahah. There will be correction needed. Classic Peru moment.
Apart from all that, there really wasn't much else that went on this week. Just a lot of helping the other missionaries get settled in and everything for the new transfer. Oh also later today we're gonna get a senior missionary couple in our zone! They're gonna help with the branch and restructure a lot of things here. It'll also be the first senior missionaries here since years ago, so it's very exciting.
We spent a lot of time this week finding their apartment, getting all their stuff moved in, and setting everything up. Took a good chunk of time, but I learned how to put together an office chair and a bed frame. So that's chill I guess.
I guess one takeaway from this week would be the importance of church attendance. Every single week. It is sooo important guys, Please go. It will help you in so many ways. Bring a friend too, they and you will be blessed from it. I'm so thankful that my parents showed me the example of going every week, and making it a priority always.
That's all for this week. Love you all and until next Monday. Peace.
