Wusya name
Hello. Wusya name. Ma name is.
That is a summary of what I hear every day from the kids here. It's kinda funny actually hahah. So now we just say it back to them and they get so confused. The Peruvian English education system is terrible. The 18 year olds that have been studying it their whole lives know like 3 words. It's awful. All the Ecuadorians in my mission know so much more compared to the Peruvians. It's kinda sad cause all the people here are pretty much trapped here. Unfortunate but oh well.
Anyways, sorry I couldn't get an email out last week. I'll give a recap of the last 2 weeks in this one. They've been good ones.
Last week we had the legendary Elder Villar of the 70 come visit our mission. It was awesome. As one of my friends said, "we were spiritually fed." Which says it all. It was a really good meeting with a ton of super good insights. I really enjoyed it and just tried to soak in all the information I could. He had also come to the MTC when I was there so it was cool to listen to him again.
We had meetings with him 2 days in a row, which included a stay in the famous Casa Real hotel. Including air conditioning, and a hot shower. Brother and sisters, it was the best shower I've taken in my life. I took extreme advantage of that in the states. My body literally hadn't touched hot or even warm water in basically a whole year. So it was a very enjoyable shower, in the night and morning. With a wonderful night's sleep in an air conditioned room. It was also the same hotel that I stayed in on my first night in Peru, so it was a good way to celebrate my year mark.
Yesterday we got transfer news and I'm staying in the same area with my same companion. Which I feel great about. It's gonna be a really fun transfer and we're getting some great new missionaries in the zone. Time has been moving fast these days, and I've been really loving the mission. Very fun.
But the last thing I wanted to touch on was something I really liked from the meeting with Elder Villar. He talked a little bit about the Spirit, and how to feel it more in our lives. He explained to us that if we wanna feel it more, we have to recognize the different ways we feel it. So that's been something I wanna do, is every time I feel the spirit, recognize how I feel it, so I can notice more throughout my life. Anyways I thought that was cool.
Also congrats to my sister Ryan for getting married!
That's all for this week though. Miss you and love you all!
