Crackling Squid

Hey everyone!  I'm back from another week here in Peru!  Life has been crazy, but I'm learning so much every day.

Last week a member fed us fried squid and it was actually soooo good. I don't remember what it was called but it translated to crackling squid, which is kinda sick. For some reason while I'm writing about this I keep thinking about Squid from the movie Holes. But anyways it was definitely the best thing I've eaten here so far. The people always give us so much food here, which I'm super grateful for, but sometimes it's so hard to eat it all. I've slowly been getting more used to it though.

We went on exchanges again and I went with Elder Malaga. While we were at a member's house he picked up one of their cats and twisted its neck like crazy until it cracked a bunch of times. I was shocked. He then proceeded to do it to the two other cats that were there. It was crazy. I asked him how learned to do that and he said one day he was cracking his own neck and he wondered if it was the same for cats. So he tried it and it worked haha. It was pretty funny but also concerning.

I drank wine! A member gave us a drink called Chicha which is basically unfermented wine made from corn, and with no alcohol of course. But I didn't know that until later so I just drank it like normal. It was kinda weird and I didn't love it but I drank it anyway. I'm pretty sure it was fine for me to drink.....at least I hope so. Let me know in the comments down below if I made a rookie mistake.

I wear my classic $20 Casio watch every day, and this week I found out that they cost like 300 soles here, which is like 80 bucks in US Dollars. So I basically have a Peruvian Rolex. Hopefully it doesn't get stolen cause that would be an L. But now I know a way to make bank the next time I come to Peru.

This week I had to give a 5 minute talk in the Sacrament meeting. I felt like it went pretty well. But after the meeting, a bunch of people came up and asked me questions that I answered in my talk earlier. So either they didn't understand me or they just weren't listening. I'm gonna go with the second option.

Recently I've been loving the Book of Mormon. How cool that we have this book from thousands of years ago from the people that lived here before us! It amazes me every day how well it applies to my life, regardless of when it was written. I want to challenge all you guys to read this book every day, whether it be just one verse or one chapter a day. I promise that you guys will find more peace and happiness in your lives by reading this book.

That's about it for this week, Thanks for all your love and support, love you all!
