First email

What’s up everyone, it’s finally here. My first email! It’s still crazy to me that I’m a missionary. Home MTC has been so awesome. Super great classes, and great teachers. My back kinda hurts from sitting all day long but that will soon change. These days are long for sure, but they are also so good. I’m super excited to start the in-person training next week.

My district is so awesome, and super big. We have 17 elders and no sisters, which is pretty rare but also super fun. My companion is Elder Evans and he’s great! He lives is Farmington and likes to ski and mountain bike. He and 4 others including me are all going to the same mission. It’s going to be so fun to see all these guys in a few days.

My teachers are Hermana Murdock, Hermano Morrill, and Hermano Motegue. They are all so awesome! It would definitely be challenging to teach online classes everyday for hours at a time to a bunch of teenage boys. So I’m super thankful for them. On Tuesday my Spanish teacher Hermano Montegue started only speaking Spanish to us on our call, and he expected the same for us. It was definitely nerve racking, but I got through it, and started studying more Spanish right when the call was over. Hopefully next time it won’t be as scary.

It’s definitely a blessing to still be at home. Being with my family while being a set apart missionary is such a cool experience. I'm definitely going to miss that. I’m also really going to miss my Mom and Dad’s cooking when I’m gone. They’ve been making all my favorite meals before I leave. I guess I’ll just have to drink a lot of chocolate milk at the MTC to make up for it.

I’m so grateful for this gospel and for missionary work. It’s amazing to see all the missionaries in my district get so excited about this work. I feel so much peace, even in my packed schedule, and I know it’s because I’m doing what the Lord wants me to do.

¡Adios!
