Mr. Kipling
Hey how's it going guys! Its been a pretty good week over here, pretty busy but good.
First of all we had a baptism this week! Her name is Lia and she's 9 and she's super awesome! I was able to baptize her on Saturday and it was super great. It was so cool to be able to teach her and watch her take this important step in her life.
The place I live is super far from where we normally eat lunch, which is lame but it's alright. But anyways, we always see these massive iguanas on our walk and it's so crazy! They are kinda scary because they're so big. I called one of them Mr. Kipling one time but it sadly didn’t answer. They need Ravi to take care of them and Jessie to feed them.
Something that's funny here in Peru is that everyone thinks that Hall's cough drops are candy. Like all the Peruvian Elders will just eat them and treat them like candy. And then they'll offer us gringos one and we'll be like nahhh but thanks. It's pretty funny, such an interesting country.
The other day I found out that my Peruvian companion's dad is a gringo. Straight up a white dude. It's super random hahah. Also it's really funny because his first name is Evan's. Like with the apostraphe. Very interesting but cool I guess. Once again, such an interesting country.
One other thing I thought was funny was this. We had a multi-zone conference a couple of weeks ago which was lit as usual. But they gave us these super cool notebooks that had like our mission tag printed big on the front. So I saw these and I was stoked because they were sick, and then I saw mine hahah. They had spelled my name "Splangler" with an extra L. It was pretty funny hahah. I honestly wasn't that sad about it I just thought it was funny and a good story to tell.
Last thing I wanted to write is that I hit 6 months last week as a missionary, super crazy! Its been the craziest 6 months of my life! But I've also learned so much that will help me for the rest of my life. I've learned that we literally can't be happy without this gospel. I've learned that the small things like reading the scriptures, praying, and going to church are so important! I've learned that the Book of Mormon is the most true book on earth and it really can change lives! There are so many more things that I've learned these past 6 months and I can't wait to continue learning this next year and a half!
Anyways I love you all and I hope you have a great week. Goodbye!
Elder Spangler
